Welcome Viking family to your Counseling Corner!

Let us begin by explaining the role of the school counselor to best support you. Counselors help guide and prepare students in the areas of academics, college and career, and social/emotional well being.

Academically, we provide students with tips for time-management, studying, and resources for academic support. For college and career, we use tools such as Thrively to help students discover their strengths and interests, so that they may take this information to explore careers that match those unique qualities. For social and emotional well-being, we provide weekly Wellness Wednesday messages via Jupitergrades, sharing with self-care tips along with video links to relevant lessons.

We strongly believe in the importance of our partnership with parents/guardians, staff, and the community, for the success. Our hope is that MVA students will leave our school adopting the MVA Viking traits—Versatile, Inquisitive, Kind, Interactive, Never Give Up, Gutsy, Synergetic  and are prepared for future success in high school and post-secondary education.

Students, your counselors are here for you. Please “check-in” with your counselor as often as you need to. You can find the links to all of the resources mentioned above under the counseling center tab located on the right-hand side of this page.

Gooooo Vikings!

Sincerely,

Your MVA Counselors
